Registration Information for Microbiology for Health Professions Registration Information for Introductory Microbiology for Heal

The total cost for each 4-semester hour course of which one semester hour is a virtual laboratory is $1190 and includes $940 for tuition, a $10 registration fee and a $240 fee for books and technology access. Registration and books are non-refundable. Tuition is partially refundable for the first four weeks. Please see the syllabus for details.

Technology Requirements

This is an Internet based course. You will need to have access to a computer with Internet access and speakers.

The virtual laboratory, VirtualUnknown™ Microbiology is supported on the Microsoft® Operating Systems, including the following versions: 

Windows® 98™
Windows® ME™
Windows® 2000
Windows® XP®.

Minimum requirements are:
64MB RAM
50MB hard disk space
800x600 resolution monitor (SVGA)
2MB or more video graphics card (65K color depth palette).
A 500MHz or faster processor is recommended

If you are a MAC user you can run VirtualUnknown™ Microbiology if you are running Virtual PC and the Windows operating system on your Mac.  For more information about these programs go to http://www.apple.com/macosx/applications/virtualpc/

Enrollment

There are two ways to enroll in the course:

2.  You may call Angela Morse at 207-602-2494 and she will take the information over the phone.


You may enroll any day the University is open and your course material will be sent following receipt of your credit card number or check. Your official start date is the day we send your course materials that will include textbooks and the virtual laboratory software. We will try to send these materials within a few days.
