Registration Information for Medical General Chemistry I
The total cost for the 4-semester hour course of which one semester
hour is a virtual laboratory is $1190 and includes $940 for tuition, a
$10 registration fee and a $240 fee for books and technology access.
Registration and books are non-refundable. Tuition is partially
refundable for the first four weeks. Please see the syllabus for
details.
Technology Requirements
This is an Internet based course. You will need to have access to a computer with Internet access and speakers.
Laboratory requirements
The cost of the Lab Kit is not included
in the laboratory fee and must be purchased by the student online
directly from the supplier, AtHomeScience. The website address is

You have two options as to which lab kit to purchase. If you are
planning on only taking the first semester of Distance Medical General
Chemistry I, you should purchase ChemKit-1(CK-1) which sells for
$160.00 (August 2007 price) plus shipping and handling. This kit
includes lab manual, goggles, basic supplies and chemical needed to
perform 11 experiments that will accompany this course. If you
are planning on taking both semesters of Distance Medical General
Chemistry with labs, you should purchase ChemKit-S (CK-S), which sells
for $229.00 (August 2007 price) plus shipping and handling. This
kit includes manual, goggles, basic equipment, supplies, and
chemicals. ChemKit-S covers the full spectrum of general
chemistry with 20 academically demanding experiments intended for an
introductory or survey course in general chemistry. It includes
detailed laboratory manual and all basic laboratory equipment and
materials needed to carry out the 20 included experiments.

You may enroll any day the University is open and your course material
will be sent following receipt of your credit card number or check.
Your official start date is the day we send your course materials that
will include textbooks and the access code for the virtual laboratory
software. We will try to send these materials within a few days.
